Staines has enjoyed significant investment in recent times that has brought many benefits to the town. It can now boast a town centre that is the envy of others in the region, with a high quality,

pedestrianised High Street, and two shopping centres, The Elmsleigh & Two Rivers, that together offer a wide choice of shops, leisure & entertainment facilities - all in a wonderful setting beside the River Thames.

Many major companies are located in or around Staines and the town is widely acknowledged as an accessible, safe, and economically successful town that can compete effectively with other

destinations in the area.

But whilst we enjoy the growing success of Staines we not complacent! We recognise that there is still more to be done to achieve and maintain our shared vision of:

Working together to make Staines the preferred place in which to shop, work, live, and invest, by ensuring that it continues to offer a clean, safe, accessible, high-quality environment.

The Staines Partnership brings together the key stakeholders that have an interest in the continued long-term prosperity of Staines. These include representatives from the local authority, businesses and community organisations, who all share the vision of:

Working together to make Staines the preferred place in which to shop, work, live, and invest, by ensuring that it continues to offer a clean, safe, accessible, high quality environment.

Staines has in recent times enjoyed a well-deserved renaissance, benefiting from major new investment totalling many hundreds of millions of pounds that have significantly enhanced the town centre.

The successful Two Rivers retail development, the ever-popular Elmsleigh Centre, together with an attractive pedestrianised High Street, combine to provide a wide choice of retail and leisure facilities within a high quality, accessible, environment. The close proximity of the River Thames to the town centre can now be more fully appreciated and easily accessed via the newly landscaped Memorial Gardens and refurbished Market Square. New additions have been made to the townscape in the form of a new Community Centre, a prestigious residential development adjacent to Staines Bridge, and a new hotel on Two Rivers.

The Staines Partnership Ltd., is a private company limited by guarantee, that has been specially formed to act as the vehicle for town centre management in Staines.

The company is structured in such a way as to allow full participation by all members of the partnership through a number of working groups that have been established to address key issues within the town centre. This way existing issues can be dealt with effectively, and new initiatives can be developed for the benefit of the whole town centre.

The Staines Partnership recognises that most benefit will be gained from working with a variety of partners, utilising their particular strengths and abilities as appropriate to each situation. In some

cases this will mean the local authority has a key role, in others it will be the private sector or community organisations that can lead the way. This pragmatic approach to partnership offers an effective way forward for Staines and its many stakeholders.
