A settlement on the Thames from Roman times, Staines is today a successful modern town offering a wide range of shopping and leisure facilities, all within a compact, accessible and attractive Thames-side setting.
Staines has changed a lot in recent times. A leisurely stroll through Memorial Gardens will provide you with a wonderful view of the River Thames, where you can picnic, or simply take in the view; watching the swans and passing boats.
The gardens, opened in 2002, are also home to interesting water features and sculptures and the Town Pier.
